Privacy policy

Last updated October 10, 2026. This policy covers bitssecurity.com, published by Right Angles Technologies Inc.

The short version

The calculators on this site run in your browser and do not send what you type anywhere. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms and no newsletter. The web server keeps standard access logs, Google serves the ads and may set cookies to do so, and the page fonts load from Google Fonts. The rest of this page explains each of those.

Calculator inputs

When you enter a principal, a margin, a date range or a loan schedule, the arithmetic happens in JavaScript on your own device. The rate history the calculators need is downloaded from this site as static files, the same files for every visitor, and nothing about your inputs is added to that request. Results, tables and CSV downloads are built in the browser. Closing the tab discards them; the site does not store them in cookies or browser storage.

Server logs

Like almost every website, our web server records each request in an access log: the IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, the response code, the referring page and the browser's user-agent string. We use these logs to keep the site running, diagnose errors and spot abuse. We do not sell them, and we do not use them to build profiles of visitors.

Advertising and cookies

BitsSecurity shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies, or similar identifiers, to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site and other sites, to limit how often you see an ad and to measure ad performance.

You can turn off personalized advertising from Google in Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of personalized advertising from many other participating companies at www.aboutads.info. Opting out does not remove ads; the ads you see will be less tailored. Google explains how it uses data from sites that show its ads at policies.google.com.

Google Fonts

The typefaces on this site are loaded from Google Fonts at fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. To deliver them, your browser sends Google a standard request that includes your IP address and user-agent. Google describes its handling of these requests in its Google Fonts privacy FAQ.

Rate data

The New York Fed is not contacted by your browser. Rates are stored on this site as a dated snapshot that we download by hand, as described on the sources and methodology page.

Email you send us

If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever your message contains. We use them to answer you and to fix whatever you reported, and we do not add you to a mailing list or pass your message to anyone else.

Children

The site is written for finance professionals and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
